  1. If the colonist had not have taken a stand against the king then America would have not became a free country because the colonist would not speak up for themselves. Also instead of having a president, who listens to their people, we would have had a long line of kings that treat their people unfairly.

  2. I think united states would not have become a free country because the revolutionary war started because the colonists spoke up.So if the colonists did not speak up the revolutionary war would not have happened so the colonies would still be owned by Great Britain.

    • I think you have a very strong claim and your explanation also clearly explains your claim and makes it sound very interesting to read. This would make a great argumentive essay and you would probably get a good grade on it because of that claim

  3. If the colonists had not taken a stand then maybe America would not have become a free country. The colonists had proven themselves to the king because they boycotted and took a stand for what they believed and if they had not done this then maybe today America would still be owned by the England and probably would not have independence.

  4. If the colonists had not taken a stand to the King, the U.S. would not be a free country. This is because the colonists put up a fight to overthrow the king, which started the Revolutionary War. Because the colonists won the war, we are now a free country.

    • I don’t agree with you. The United States would still be a free country today if the colonists didn’t stand up against the King of England. It is hard for a king to rule a place so far from were he lives himself, like the king of England did. The people who lived in America also started thinking differently and started having different habits from the King of England and their old home did. This made it hard for the King of England to rule over the Americans, since he no longer understood or thought the same as they did.

  5. I believe the United States would have eventually been freed from the King of England. However, I do not believe it would be the size it is today. Remember we purchased the present middle states from France in the Louisana Purchase. A long term opponent of Britain. Presently, most of Britains colonies are free example India. It would not be the America we know and love today!

    • I agree with you. I also think that the United States eventually would have been freed from the King of England. It is hard for a king to rule a place so far from were he lives himself. It would also eventually not be possible for the King of England to rule over the people who lived in America since they started to think and behave differently when they lived so far away from each other and had different environments and geography.

  6. The United States would still become a free country even if the colonists didn’t take a stand against the king of England. It is hard for a king to rule a place so far from were he lives himself, like the king of England did. Also, if a group of people settles in a new place far from were they came from, they create new habits and believes which differs them from how their old king and home thought and behaved. Therefore, it would eventually not be possible for the king of England to rule over a group of people he no longer understood or thought like.

  7. If the colonists had not taken a stand against the king we would not be a free country because the only reason we are a free country is because the colonist put up a fight which led to our independence. But if we didn’t speak up we would have been ruled by the next of kin to King George and might even still have a king today.
